In order for us to deliver to your property a drop kerb and a driveway is needed, this skip can NOT be placed on the public highway and MUST be on private property or a drive ONLY.

Permit Requirements
Permits are not required if the skip is sited on your own property. If the skip is to be located on any public road, a permit from the local council is required. Give us the details at the time of hiring and we can arrange this on your behalf, or assist you if necessary, and add the cost to your skip hire fee. Lamps are provided with the permit and turn on automatically during the hours of darkness.

  • Permits have different validity times depending upon the location and council.
  • It can take from 3 to 10 days to get a permit, so please consider this when booking your skip.
  • Most streets require a bay suspension, which incurs a daily charge and admin fee.

No Permit is required if the skip will be placed on your drive, or lawn or other private area.

Hire & Delivery

The skip hire period is 14 days (extended periods can be arranged). If a permit is required, the hire period is for the valid period of the permit unless otherwise arranged.

If you require next working day delivery you will need to contact our office on 0207 231 0777 as you cannot order online.If you require a Council Highway permit – 2-5 working days depending which Council is used and only 4yd and 8yd skips can have them.

There will be no refunds for part filled skips.

Level Loads Only
A main health & safety rule of Skip hire is to maintain a level load with the side of the skip so please DO NOT overload your skip. If our driver considers the load unsafe they will be unable to move the container. If overloaded, but considered safe to transport, a surcharge will be imposed.

What CAN and CANNOT be put in a skip

Hazardous materials CANNOT be must be placed in the skip, including asbestos, fridges, TV’s or other monitors, car batteries, tyres, gas cylinders, electrical equipment, medical waste, liquids, paints and solvents (plasterboard can go in skips). Materials of this type placed in a skip could endanger our staff and will incur additional charges or the materials/items returned to the hirer’s site.

Materials that CAN be put into a skip include bricks, concrete, stone, rubble, cardboard, domestic waste, garden waste, wood, plastics, metals, furniture and gas cookers.

Burning in the skip
Fires are not permitted in the skips. Any damage caused to the skips by the burning will be chargeable whether the fires are accidental or deliberate.
